Birthday bonanza

This weekend was delightful, all at once busy and leisurely. It was hubby's birthday, yet I was the one getting a new haircut.

New Do and cafes

Anyway, we did our usual Saturday morning thing of wandering around town and eating breakfast at one of Scarborough's many cafes.

Later that evening though, we had a table booked at Gianni's Italian restaurant. Having only lived in Scarborough for a couple of months, this is only the second actual restaurant as opposed to cafe or bistro, that we have tried.

We weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was buzzing, the food was delicious and hubby was thoroughly spoiled.

After dinner we enjoyed the rest of the evening in our favourite town centre pub.

The next day, I had planned a special surprise. Now, I'm not a snooker fan, but hubby most definitely is, so when I discovered that the UK snooker championships were on in York over his birthday weekend, how could I not buy tickets.

It was a great surprise, one he definitely enjoyed, and whilst I'm not miraculously transformed into a snooker watcher, it wasn't totally uninteresting.

Oh, and we made it onto TV in some of the audience shots. All in all, a grand weekend.
